The first meeting with Reyes + Jesse was over a cup of coffee on a warm- Fall day. In the initial meet and greet, it was easy to see they had this connection. One of those connections that is quiet, yet deep. Chatting with them more we learned that Reyes is an RN which explains her warmth, her never ending smiles and the gentleness that she has. Jesse has a straight forward, strong yet kind way about him. He is a fire fighter and stays quite busy through the summer. But the one thing that stood out is that they both have careers helping others. You can tell that it carries over into their relationship and we know this one is going to last for sure.
You can tell a lot about people in how they treat others. The day of the wedding Reyes + Jesse were so kind to their family, friends and all of their vendors. Always smiling, laughing and enjoying their beautiful Spring wedding at Zenith Vineyard. So much love with their family, friends and most importantly with each other.
Read a little more about how we got to this gorgeous wedding day, for these High School sweethearts. It was next to impossible not to smile being around these two all day!
How did you first meet?
Jesse and I first met in high school our freshman year. We were both played soccer. One day after soccer practice we were both waiting for our parents to pick us up. I noticed Jesse was new to the school. I sat next to him and introduced myself. After introducing myself I asked him where he was from. His response was short, ” I’m Jesse. I’m from Texas” We became friends and we kept in touch throughout the years.
Let’s hear about the proposal! Was it a big event? A quick intimate moment? Did you know it was coming? Were you freaking out?
Jesse and I decided to go to Puerto Vallarta. We were both pretty excited as we had never traveled outside of the country together. We had a fun and adventurous week of zip lining, exploring, and hiking. On one of our last days there Jesse had planned a day excursion to Marrietas Island. An Island that can only be reached by swimming under and through a cave.
This was kind of a BIG deal for me. I was excited and scared all at the same time. Not knowing if I would be able to get over my fear of the ocean and jump in.
Our boat stopped near Marrietas Island. Jesse playfully challenged me to jump into the ocean. By this time I was feeling spontaneous.( I think the margaritas we had sipped on way had taken effect… )
I jumped off the boat into the ocean, and swam to the island . ( okay maybe I panicked a little) On our arrival to Marrietas Island Jesse put me in complete shock as he pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him. I was completely caught off guard!
What is the one thing you love most about each other?
Jesse- I love her eyes. Sometimes in the sunlight they look hazel.
Reyes- I just love it when he smiles. I think he’s got a beautiful smile.
What is your favorite thing to do together?
We like to go out and try authentic foods, we also love to travel.
We’d love to know something silly or quirky about each of you! This is your chance to embarrass each other =)
Jesse- I love her attitude she can be silly and playful. She likes to sing out loud and comes up with some crazy dance moves in the car.
Reyes- He loves watching cat videos, and he also loves chickens. I think someday when we have our own house I’m going to surprise him with a flock of chickens.
Besides actually getting married – what is something you are really looking forward to on your wedding day?
We are super excited to go on a trip. We are planning on going on our honeymoon after fire season ends in November or December. We can’t wait. Destination still pending 🙂
Reyes + Jesse we thank you for choosing us to be your wedding photographers! We had a wonderful time capturing your love story! We are wishing you all the best in your traveling adventures, your best “in the car” dance moves & getting that flock of chickens!
